Bloodsucking Freaks (USA 1976, dir. Joel M. Reed)
"Deliberately tacky and tongue-in-cheek . . . in the spirit of Herschel Gordon Lewis.” - Encyclopedia of Horror
Venture into a bizarre Off-Broadway theatre of the macabre, operated by a deranged impresario. Inside, sadistic entertainments are staged in the tradition of the Grand Guignol for his audience’s pleasure, including tortures, dismemberment and other gruesome acts. When people begin disappearing off the streets of Manhattan, the twisted truth begins to chillingly sink in: these horrifying acts are not theatrical at all. They are real! Joel Reed's BLOODSUCKING FREAKS has earned a reputation as being one of the most notorious gore-soaked-nasties from the NYC underground.
